Background

Pop-Vac was established to address a specific problem in cannabis packaging: oxygen exposure degrades terpenes, reduces shelf life, and diminishes product quality before it reaches the consumer. Standard screw-top containers, many of them adapted from food or pharmaceutical packaging, allow ongoing air exchange that accelerates terpene oxidation and aroma loss.

Pop-Vac's response was a vacuum-seal mechanism engineered specifically for cannabis products. Rather than relying solely on threaded compression, the closure reduces internal oxygen levels after filling, creating a controlled interior environment intended to preserve product quality from fill to first open. The company applies this single sealing platform across all of its packaging formats.

Products

Pop-Vac offers a unified vacuum-sealed packaging platform spanning three primary cannabis product categories, plus a consumer storage product and custom packaging services. An overview of the complete lineup is available on the Pop-Vac jars page.

Concentrate Jars

Pop-Vac concentrate jars are vacuum-sealed glass jars engineered for cannabis extracts, including live resin, live rosin, fresh-press rosin, badder, budder, diamonds, sauce, and distillate. They are available in three sizes: 2 mL (recommended for approximately 1 g fills), 4 mL (2–3 g fills), and 9 mL (3–8 g fills). All sizes are child-resistant certified and automation-compatible.

Flower Containers

Pop-Vac flower containers are vacuum-sealed containers designed to preserve terpene profiles and moisture balance in cannabis flower. They are available in formats sized for 3.5 g, 7 g, 14 g, and 28 g. Flower containers are child-resistant certified and automation-compatible.

Pre-Roll Packaging (J-Tubes)

Pop-Vac pre-roll J-tubes are vacuum-sealed containers for pre-rolls in .5 g, .7 g, and 1 g formats, available as singles, 3-packs, and 10-packs. They preserve moisture balance and aroma from fill to first use and are compatible with infused SKUs. Pre-roll packaging is child-resistant certified.

Nugidor

Nugidor is a consumer-facing vacuum-sealed flower storage product designed to preserve terpenes and aroma in home and retail environments. It uses airtight glass construction with a vacuum-seal closure that minimizes oxygen exposure.

Custom Packaging

Pop-Vac offers custom packaging options including custom colors, defined label zones for pressure-sensitive, wrap-around, and shrink-sleeve labels, and additional customization services. Dieline templates are available for all formats.

Technology

Vacuum-seal mechanism. When the lid engages a Pop-Vac container, a precision-engineered seal reduces the headspace oxygen level, creating a controlled interior environment. This limits the ongoing air exchange that occurs in standard screw-top containers, slowing terpene oxidation and aroma loss and extending shelf stability. A detailed explanation is available on the how it works page.

Why oxygen matters. Terpenes are volatile organic compounds that evaporate and degrade when exposed to oxygen. For high-value products such as live resin and terpene-forward flower, packaging that permits ongoing oxygen exposure results in measurable quality loss over the weeks and months of a typical storage and distribution cycle.

MachineCanna. MachineCanna is a purpose-built automated filling and sealing system compatible with Pop-Vac packaging formats. It is engineered to consistently engage the Pop-Vac vacuum-seal mechanism at production speed, supporting high-volume cannabis production environments. More information is available on the automation page.

Certifications and Documentation

Pop-Vac packaging is tested and certified in accordance with applicable child-resistant standards, including 16 CFR § 1700.20, the Poison Prevention Packaging Act testing protocol, where applicable. Testing is conducted by qualified third-party laboratories. Certification documents are available by SKU on the CR certifications page.

Pop-Vac packaging is not FDA-approved. However, certain packaging materials are manufactured in alignment with applicable sections of 21 CFR related to food-contact material standards, and material conformity documentation is available upon request. See the FDA conformity page for details.

Additional documentation, including product spec sheets, third-party test reports, and supplier declarations of conformity, is available on the specs and certifications page. Independent testing results are published on the testing results page.
