THE PROBLEM

Oxygen Enters the Moment You Close a Standard Lid.

Live resin. Rosin. Badder. Diamonds. These are chemically sensitive, high-value products — and every traditional screw-top allows gradual air exchange from the second it closes.

The result is predictable: terpene loss, aroma leakage, product dryness, and an inconsistent consumer experience. When your product commands premium pricing, a packaging failure isn’t a minor issue. It’s a brand issue.

THE POP-VAC SOLUTION

Engineered Vacuum Protection.

Pop-Vac concentrate jars use a vacuum-seal mechanism engineered to significantly reduce internal oxygen exposure after filling. The result is improved terpene retention and extended shelf stability — consistently, across every unit. See the independent test results.

  • Vacuum-sealed freshness from fill to first open
  • Superior odor containment
  • Child-resistant certified
  • Automation-compatible
  • Designed for high-value SKUs

Built for Production

Packaging That Keeps Up With Your Fill Line.

Pop-Vac concentrate jars are engineered for automated filling and sealing workflows. Consistent dimensional tolerances and a mechanically compatible closure design ensure reliable, repeatable vacuum-seal engagement at production speed — across every unit, every shift.

For high-volume operations, Pop-Vac integrates directly with MachineCanna, a purpose-built automated filling and sealing system designed specifically for the Pop-Vac platform. No adapting generic equipment. No seal inconsistency at scale.

  • Consistent closure engagement across automated cycles
  • Reduced operator dependency and labor variability
  • Reliable seal performance at throughput speed
  • Compatible with semi-automated and fully automated lines

POP-VAC SCIENCE

Certified. Lab Tested. Proven Better Than The Competition.

Jars in the concentrate vapor loss test, left to right: Pop-Vac 4ml child-resistant jar, 5ml non-child-resistant glass jar, 5ml child-resistant glass jar, 4ml resealable gasket jar

In independent USP <671> moisture vapor transmission testing, the Pop-Vac 4ml child-resistant concentrate jar lost an average of 0.45% of its water weight per year — about 3.3× less than a leading 5ml non-child-resistant glass jar (1.50%) and 3.8× less than a leading 5ml child-resistant glass jar (1.70%). A competing 4ml resealable jar lost 284.16% per year and failed the test.

The chart’s vertical axis stops at 2.5% per year, the USP “tight” limit; the 4ml resealable jar’s bar is cut off at that line and labeled with its actual result.

How it was tested: Independent laboratory CS Analytical (Clifton, NJ) tested ten containers of each type to USP–NF 2024 <671> Containers – Performance Testing, moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) Method 8, using water as the fill. Results are the average percent of water weight lost per year. USP classifies a container as “tight” when no more than 1 of 10 containers exceeds 2.5% per year and none exceeds 5.0% per year. The Pop-Vac jar’s performance is backed by independent Moisture Vapor Transmission (MVT) testing to USP <671>, which measures how much of a sealed container’s contents escapes over time. The test uses water as a proxy for terpene-range volatiles — chosen for its centrality to the boiling point range of most terpenes and volatile compounds found in cannabis. In that test, the Pop-Vac jar lost less water than every other concentrate container tested.

In practice, a tighter seal leaves less opportunity for the volatile compounds responsible for aroma, flavor, and effect to escape during storage and distribution — so your product reaches the consumer closer to the experience it was intended to deliver.

POP-VAC SIZING

Make the Right Choice.

Pop-Vac 2mL concentrate jar, suitable for 1 gram fills

2ml - 1 gram

Pop-Vac 4mL concentrate jar, suitable for 2 to 3 gram fills

4ml - 2 to 3 grams

Pop-Vac 9mL concentrate jar, suitable for 3 to 8 gram fills

9ml - 3 to 8 grams

Selecting the appropriate concentrate jar size depends on your intended fill weight and product format. Our 2mL jar is typically suited for 1–2 grams of concentrate, making it ideal for standard single-unit offerings. The 4mL format accommodates approximately 2–3 grams, providing additional headspace for certain consistencies.

For larger volume SKUs, the 4mL extended-capacity option can support fills ranging from 3–8 grams, depending on product density and texture. Final fill capacity may vary based on concentrate type and production preferences.

BRAND DIFFERENTIATION

Stand Out On Shelf.

Most concentrate jars look the same. Pop-Vac doesn’t.

The distinctive form factor reinforces premium positioning while remaining functional and compliant. Custom color options and label compatibility allow brands to create a unified visual system across product lines.

Premium product deserves packaging that reflects it.

Common Questions

Concentrate Packaging FAQ

Q: What concentrate types work best in Pop-Vac jars? Pop-Vac concentrate jars are compatible with live resin, live rosin, fresh-press rosin, badder, budder, diamonds and sauce, distillate, dry sift, cold cure, and other cannabis extract formats. If you’re unsure whether your specific product is a good fit, request samples and test fill before committing to production volume.

Q: Which size jar should I use for my fill weight? The 2mL jar is recommended for approximately 1 gram fills. The 4mL accommodates 2–3 gram fills. The 9mL is designed for 3–8 gram fills. Selecting the right size minimises headspace, which directly reduces the internal oxygen available for terpene oxidation. When in doubt, go smaller — less headspace means better preservation.

Q: Are Pop-Vac concentrate jars child-resistant certified? Yes. All Pop-Vac concentrate jar formats are tested and certified in accordance with 16 CFR § 1700.20 (the Poison Prevention Packaging Act testing protocol) by qualified third-party laboratories. Certification documents are available by SKU for procurement and compliance teams. Download from our CR Certifications page.

Q: Can I use my own labels on Pop-Vac concentrate jars? Yes. Pop-Vac containers are designed with defined label zones and consistent surface dimensions to support pressure-sensitive labels, wrap-around labels, and other standard application methods. Official dieline templates are available for download from our Dielines page.

Q: Can I freeze my concentrates in Pop-Vac jars? Absolutely. Pop-Vac jars hold up great in the freezer for long-term storage. The only rule: let the jar warm back to room temperature before you open it. Opening it cold lets warm air condense inside, and that moisture can affect your concentrate’s texture and quality. Warm it up fully, then open, and it’ll be just as fresh as when you sealed it.
